Approach to Grants
The Foundation issues a large number of relatively small grants; this enables it to respond to diverse interests. This also encourages applicants to be resourceful and seek partnership funding from other sources. Individual grants generally range from $1,000 to $25,000.

Typically, grants are not given to meet operating budgets, and the Foundation does not generally make unrestricted grants. Grants are project-oriented with the goal of supporting work which might otherwise not receive the necessary funding. Grants are for a one-year period or less, and applicants should note that the Foundation is not to be considered a continuing source of annual funding.

When accessing an applicant’s proposal, the Foundation considers artistic merit, community engagement, and fiscal responsibility.
